The Core Objective
In this traditional board challenge, two players take turns placing and moving their pieces along a grid of intersecting lines. The primary goal is to form a straight line of three of your own pieces. Each time you complete such a line, you may remove one of your opponent's pieces from the board. This simple rule creates a rich strategic landscape where every move matters.
Placement Phase
The game begins with both players placing their pieces one by one on any empty intersection. During this phase, players must decide which positions offer the most potential for forming lines while also blocking the opponent from doing the same. Early placement often determines the flow of the entire match.
Movement Phase
Once all pieces are placed, players take turns moving one piece along the lines to an adjacent empty intersection. This phase requires careful planning as each move can create new opportunities or close off existing threats. Players must anticipate several moves ahead to maintain control.
Endgame Conditions
The match concludes when a player is reduced to only two pieces on the board or cannot make a legal move. At that point, the opponent is declared the winner. This creates a tense final stage where every move can be decisive.
